CAMH Teen Council Fashion Show Open Call 2025

Deadline: May 7, 2025 11:59 PM

Are you a teen designer looking for a chance to display your work and express yourself in the Houston arts community? Want to inspire and immerse yourself in our city’s vibrant teen art scene? Contemporary Arts Museum Houston’s (CAMH) Teen Council is looking for unique and diverse design submissions for a Fashion Show, in conjunction with the 14th biennial group exhibition of Houston-area teen artists, OUT OF STOCK.

OUT OF STOCK centers the theme of consumption and the ways in which it affects today’s teen generation. Exhibiting artists examine consumption through the lens of culture, time, social media, technology, climate change, labor, and everyday life

Teen Council is open to all design submissions, but we are prioritizing work made from recycled and thrifted materials in an effort to promote consuming less and to expand upon the concepts of the exhibition. We are looking for designs that give new life to used items and shift our view of consumption to reuse.  Additionally, designers should plan to bring their own models, but if necessary, Teen Council can provide models as needed.

Applicants must:
be 13 to 18 years of age
  live in Greater Houston area
submit original designs or provide detailed information of styling submissions
All designers/stylists/models must be available for a Dress Rehearsal on a date TBD in the week of May 26-May 30.

Submission Guidelines

  • Videos and images accepted
  • If submitting more than one design, please submit an additional Submittable application. You can submit as many performances as you like—there is no limit.
  • "Head to toe" shot of model wearing designs, if available
  • 3 or more photos of the design in different angles (front, side, and profile angles.)
  • Detail shots (encouraged)
  • In-progress works will be accepted but must be finished before the Dress Rehearsal (date TBD in the week of May 26-30)

Selected designs will walk the runway during CAMH Teen Council's Symposium, June 6, 2025, 6-8 PM.

We use Submittable to accept and review our submissions.
